Susan

"I was very nervous when my 8 year old daughter said she wanted to do horse riding. They are such large animals that I was scared she could get hurt. From the moment we arrived and met Rachel, I knew everything would be fine. Rachel is so friendly and helpful.

She put us at ease right away and her positive actions around the horses made me feel that my daughter was in good hands."

"I started riding at Apples when I was 9, originally having joint lessons with my Mum who had ridden a bit previously. From the word go, Rachel taught us very honestly, focusing on the basics and having a good relationship with the horse that you're riding- for me, the most important aspect.

Not only did Rachel teach me to ride, but over the years herself, the horses and everybody else involved have taught me so much else too. It honestly feels like a second home and family there; everybody is so warm and welcoming and I could not thank them enough."

"Sitting down to write how I feel about Apples Equestrian I realise it has become so ingrained in who I am that I neither know where to begin or when I will stop!

I'll start at the beginning. I started riding under Rachel's wing over 20 years ago. Walking through the front gates for the first time I found kindness, warmth and encouragement. I knew instinctively that I had found somewhere really special and that I would want to ride here forever.

Over the years, the time I spend here has become so much more than learning to ride. Apples Equestrian is my favourite place to laugh, my most trusted shoulder to cry on when facing challenges and my sigh of relief at the end of a busy working day.

I always leave with my head held higher, feeling happier and a little bit more like me.
Thank you Rachel".

Charley

"Before I met Rachel I had never really had any interaction with horses let alone ride them! From my first lesson I always felt safe and happy on all the horses and Rachel always explained everything to me in a way I could understand.

Now, 13 years later, I still enjoy riding as much as I did as a 10 year old! As I have grown up I have continued to learn more and more each week and have built confidence around the horses both in the saddle and on the ground.

Rachel doesn't just teach you how to ride but also how to care for and understand horses, their needs and their perspective on the world. I have achieved more than I could have ever imagined at Apples Equestrian and have made lifelong friends (Both two and four legged!) along the way!"

Liv

Liv came to at Apples Equestrian after sustaining a serious injury which left her with PTSD

"October 2016, I had my first lesson at Apples Equestrian on Bella, and that was the first time I felt true happiness for as long as I could remember. Since then, Rachel and the horses have completely changed my life for the better, I went from being quiet and constantly in a dark place, to being confident, happy and feeling like I belonged somewhere.

As well as this, my riding has come along in leaps and bounds, I completely trust Rachel and the horses, and through time, Apples has truly become my happy place. I dread to think what my life would be like if I hadn’t met Rachel, and I can’t thank her enough for everything she and the horses have done for me. If you or your child want to learn to ride, this is the place to go."
